The Logo

ABOUT THE LOGO
Most companies typically spend a vast amount of time designing their logo. They do this because they want to be readily identifiable. However, they also relish the opportunity to use the logo to communicate “the story” behind their business. I once had a boss that scoffed at this idea and challenged me with a simple question – “Paul, do you really think people pick up all of that by just glancing at a logo?” In retrospect, he is probably right to a large degree. So, upon designing the logo for Secor Strategies, I decided I would have a little fun with it and take it a step further. I decided I would communicate the story behind the logo literally. So here it is:
Double “S”
There is a double S in the logo. It stands for Secor Strategies. However, it also represents our two core services – Funding Strategies and Program Strategies.
Circle
We thought the circle design worked well because the two core services – Funding Strategies and Program Strategies – are intertwined and interdependent upon each other in many cases. (although it sounds “deep”, it is true)
Red, White, and Blue
Secor Strategies has a vast amount of experience working with federal agencies. So, when we selected colors we wanted to have an “Americana” or federal look. Hence the red and blue. The white in the logo is actually a light grey. Grey was used because it provides the logo more depth of field.
